An Article from the Future

Ah. October 2006. What a strange month it has been. We're so close to 2007, it's getting quite exciting. Although, I am not looking forward to turning 26. Ugh. How old. Anyway this morning I was strolling down Newbury Street, enjoying the Boston autumn, when a torn piece of paper flew into my face from the window of a mysterious car. The paper had this URL written on it:

Coincidence? I think not.

You will never believe what I just stumbled upon.
This blog has not been updated for some time.
Did it fly by?
No.
And Yes.
How is this possible?
Is it possible?
Yes.
And No.
There is a man, somewhere. His name is Father Time.
If he is a father, then where are his children?
I believe this is my quest.
I will find the Child Time and make it help me track daddy down, and figure out exactly what it is we are dealing with.
But.
You don't need to be human to be a father.
So maybe there is no man.
If the father is not a man, perhaps he is animal.
Then if I find him, I may kill him and eat him without betraying my anti-cannibalistic values.
And then I will inherit the power. And become the new father.
But I have no children.
Therefore I cannot be Father.
I need to reproduce as soon as I find, kill, and devour the delicious beast.
For a while I will be Child Time. Until my child is born.
A while, or not a while, since I will control all that is.
But I cannot be Child Time if my father is not Father Time.
And if I am Child Time, then I need to find myself in order to help myself find Father Time in order to kill, marinate, grill, ingest, and defecate him.
HOW CAN I DO THAT?
The other option is to father my own children before tracking down Child or Children Time.
But I am too young.
However once I have succesfully absorbed the Father's power, I will no longer be too young.
There will be no young nor old for me.
I will control this world.
You should start getting on my good side, friends.
I hold your lives in the palm of my hand.
Which is the only palm I know.

Where are the ghosts of dinosaurs?

"The concept of time is full of mystery. We intuitively feel that time cannot be stopped, we all exist in time, and everything is subject to time. It seems obvious that because we live in time, it is the prime measure of existence."

The rest is here:
THE CONCEPT OF ABSOLUTE TIME IN SCIENCE AND JEWISH THOUGHT

I haven't read all of it yet, but hopefully there is value in it. Maybe it can help clarify what we are or aren't interested in exploring.

I also have some questions that could get the ball rolling a little. As Ezra pointed out, this is a multi-media affair. So, what does a Cahiers du Temps song sound like? What does a painting look like? Can we know until we try it? Are we trying to remove time, deconstruct time, redefine time, or revolutionize it? A friend recommended Einstein's Dreams to me. He said that in each of the 30 chapters time functions differently. Another friend of mine said the book was bunk.

Cesium

I am not sure how this blog business functions, but I think it is now up and running. More to come...
